Tanabata Star Festival Public Tea Gatherings at the Seattle Japanese Garden

During the Tanabata Star Festival in The Seattle Japanese Garden, the Seattle Special District conducted Tanabata public tea gatherings on July 6th. The tea gatherings were booked solidly for all seatings in advance. Participants watched the demonstration on the terrace and enjoyed sweets associated with the Tanabata festival from Japan, as well as a bowl of matcha in the tearoom. Participants enjoyed the Japanese seasonal event and the story of Tanabata.

シアトル日本庭園・茶室”松声庵”において”七夕祭り市民茶会”を開催

シアトル日本庭園で毎年開催される七夕祭りにあわせて、園内の茶室”松声庵”において、”七夕祭り茶会”を開催いたしました。茶室のテラスには、庭園のスタッフにより七夕飾りをしつらえていただき、七夕にちなんだ道具組、お菓子などで七夕祭りの雰囲気を体験していただきました。この茶席では、通常の茶の湯の説明に加えて、天の川、おり姫、ひこ星などのストーリーもご説明し、日本からの七夕にちなんだお菓子と美味しいお抹茶をご用意し、一服のお茶とともに初夏のひとときに、日本の催事も楽しんでいただける趣向としました。この七夕祭りの開催中は、来園者には、七夕祭りに願い事を書いて短冊に結びつける笹飾りや、折り紙などで七夕飾りをつくるワークショップも開催されました。
