Chanoyu Club at FHHS miraculously held its second outdoor tea ceremony despite the morning thunderstorm, which cleared up just in time. Led by the members who participated last year, the club actively planned the event with their advisor. Many attendees wore yukatas, and teachers and students enjoyed the tea ceremony together. In April, a teacher who chaperoned our EF school trip to Japan gifted the club a beautiful Kyo-yaki tea bowl with a cherry blossom design, which we used as the main bowl for our tea ceremony. It was a wonderful event showcasing the growth of our members in their tea ceremony skills over the past year.
昨年設立された茶道部は新メンバーも加わり、午前中の雷雨も準備の頃には止み、奇跡的に第２回野点茶会を無事に開催できました。昨年参加した部員が中心となり顧問の先生とともに日時や場所選び、招待客リストや案内、季節の主菓子の選定など企画から積極的に関わりました。多くの参加者が浴衣で参加し、一座建立の中、先生方も生徒達も一緒に茶会を楽しみました。4月、日本へ修学旅行で引率した先生から茶道部に桜の絵が描かれた美しい京焼の抹茶椀を頂きました。これを主茶碗に使い、お点前を行いました。設立から１年、所作も少しづつ覚えてきた部員たちの成長が感じられる素晴らしいお茶会でした。
